Junipero is building a new way to control gene expression. No DNA cuts, no viral vectors, just programmable molecules that guide a cell's own machinery to the genes that matter. We are early, we are funded, and we are looking for people who want to build this with us.
What you would work on
Our platform uses short synthetic molecules that guide the cell's own regulators to a target RNA, raising or lowering a single gene's output. We start with diseases driven by one gene, and the same approach works for many more.
How we work
We are a small team doing hard science. A few things hold true no matter who is in the room.
We run clean experiments and we trust the results, even when they surprise us. Good science beats a good story every time.
Early people here run programs, not tasks. You help decide what we test, why, and what we do next.
Curiosity and drive matter more to us than a perfect resume. If you are willing to learn fast and care about the work, we want to talk.
We work quickly because patients are waiting, but we never cut the corners that quality and safety depend on.
Where we are growing
These are the areas we build in as the team grows. If your work fits one of them, or you think you would add something we are missing, we would like to hear from you.
Design and make the ASOs at the heart of the platform.
Build and run the assays that tell us whether a molecule works.
Turn high-dimensional data into the next round of better designs.
Take our best candidates into animal models and read out what happens.
Why Junipero
You join early, so your work shapes the science and the company from the start.
Programs aimed at real diseases, with a clear path from the bench toward patients who need it.
We work out of BioLabs Durham, with the equipment, neighbors, and community a young company needs to move.
Our founder came to science because people gave him a chance. We try hard to pass that on.
Tell us who you are and what you would work on. We read every note.
